What fun we had on Saturday in the encaustic workshop--melted wax! A new medium for everyone..everyone didn6 small postcard size pictures to start--it gave everyone a feel of the wax and the iron used to create the paintings.Then we moved on to do the large 16in x 20in pictures on thin perspex.We had all manner of things appear in the melted wax--faces ,animals -all manner of things! The photos do not do the paintings justice at all..everyone loved it it sounds like there will be some requests for encaustic irons etc for Christmas! I will be running another workshop next year..
