Diane Jennings
I am a successful, established artist living in Shropshire. I am now working full time as an artist/art teacher.
I am a Professional Associate of the SAA (Society for All Artists) which means I carry their endorsement as a tutor and demonstrator
I am in the process of painting several series of paintings-my ''monochrome collection'' which speaks for itself consists mainly of birch tree scenes which have proved very , very popular over the past year and my ''Manic Collection''which consists of brightly coloured designs on a black background. The latest of this collection "Get A Wobble On" has been featured in Interior design magazine "House and Home Ideas" April 2008 edition
My paintings reflect two sides of my psyche. My love of dramatic images which evoke passion and emotion, as shown by my vivid canvases allowing me the pleasure of indulging in my love of colour, and my need for tranquillity and order in a stressful, chaotic world, represented by my more reflective works taking inspiration from the world around me.
Diversity being the spice of life, my subject matter ranges broadly; from African Sunsets and local scenery to surrealistic fantasy imagery.....from stormy seascapes to the calmness of a poppy field!
.
I work in several different mediums-oils, acrylics and encaustic ( Melted wax) I sometimes combine all three of them together!
I love the freeness that working with melted wax gives me—it can be controlled to a certain point but it still has a life of its own -so its very exciting to see what develops -when painting with oils and acylic I know exactly the effect I will get as brush touches canvas-whereas the wax is a completely different story!
I also do demonstrations for art clubs and other groups such as Art Societies and WI's which is great fun to do both for me and them!! PLEASE FEEL FREE TO GET IN TOUCH WITH ME IF YOU WOULD LIKE ME TO DO A DEMONSTRATION FOR YOUR CLUB.
I have been painting for some time now, but had to start to make it my full time career after my husband Bill had a heart attack 7 years ago and had to give up his HGV license and also his job.
I love nothing better than to get my brushes out and start creating another painting.
My work has diversed from normal landscapes to abstract work and everything in between over the past few years.
To be creative is the very essence of who I am-and painting allows me this indulgence!
I love painting commissions and a combination of your ideas and mine can produced some beautiful paintings,. |
