Many people have said to me that they have always wanted to paint but it was  'too hard' and they can't  'draw a straight line'.

if I had a pound for everytime I heard that and I proved them wrong,
I would be very rich!!

You really don't need any experience for this technique,  the only thing needed is the desire to do it.

I always tell my students this :    'you could not go to the wool shop and buy needles and wool and expect to get home and knit without being shown.   well, the same goes for painting.   With the right instruction you  can  paint'.

I will try and run the classes at least once a month
I take a minimum of 4 people and a maximum of 7 people in each class to ensure everyone gets plenty of attention
I provide everything you need for you to take home your very own masterpiece.   We go through the painting step by step and you do not get any chance to go wrong !

You will paint a 16in x 20in canvas that is ready to hang when you get it home.   You do not need any experience at all,  but even people who have painted before say they will never go back to their old way of painting,  once they have tried my way.

The classes are always fun and we have a great time as the pictures develop,  with everyone comparing their paintings.

It always gives people a great sense of achievement when they have a completed painting.   When the pictures are taken home, no one believes that they have been done by that person in the time,  a great buzz when you are the artist!!

Many people have taken up art after coming to me for a class and I supply everything needed for the budding artist to start out
(see my  Art materials  page).   The charge for this class is  £35  to include everything,  including light refreshments.




'One to one'  tuition:
Not everyone wants to,  or for other reasons cannot join a class,  and would like  'one to one'  tuition.
I charge  £40  for this.   You do get a little bit more tuition in some ways,  because you are the only student,  and you usually get a go at the Encaustic Art as a bonus,  which always goes down well !

Again,  you get full instruction to complete a painting and everyone goes away happy!




The Encaustic Experience:
This is a very interesting form of art involving a small iron and coloured beeswax.
Great fun to do and totally different to the oil painting.
It is so unpredictable,  the effects are beautiful,  and you can never get the same effect twice.

I can only have  2  or  3  people at a time for a class at the moment.
Each person will do  20  x  postcard size pictures and  2  x  A4  size

The charge for this class is  £35  per person.

Concerning all classes,   i do ask for a  £10  deposit when the class is booked.
